RheinTalent at the Apply AI Summit: European AI for better professional connections
RheinTalent shows how SMEs can use AI responsibly in recruitment: with European models, explainable suggestions and human decisions.

On 17 November 2026, the European Commission’s Apply AI Summit will take place in Brussels and online. RheinTalent will bring a concrete use case from Liechtenstein to the conversations on AI Act and Innovation and AI and Workforce.

The example shows how an SME can approach a regulated domain: not through abstract rules alone, but through a clearly bounded use case, technical safeguards and deliberately designed human decisions.
Seeing more than keywords in a CV
RheinTalent helps candidates and companies create meaningful profiles. AI can structure skills, reveal transferable experience and prepare explanations for possible connections.
Professional fit is complemented by further questions: What motivates a person? Which values matter? What impact do they want to make? Purpose and values do not become an automated verdict. They provide material for a better conversation between both sides.
AI-supported coaching is part of the service too. In a confidential setting, people can explore options, formulate questions and prepare their next steps. Some candidates tell us that this initial exchange feels easier with AI. This does not mean that AI is free from bias. It does show that a conversation perceived as neutral can create new access.
AI prepares. People decide.
RheinTalent does not automatically reject anyone and does not make hiring decisions. Suggestions are signals. They remain explainable, can be corrected and require conscious confirmation.
Personal mentoring complements digital guidance. Experienced people from the region help with questions that a profile or matching score cannot answer. This combination is central: technology creates clarity and new possibilities. Trust and responsibility remain human.
European models and controlled infrastructure
RheinTalent uses Mistral models through a European endpoint. According to the project, the website, application and database run on self-managed infrastructure in Germany. Profiles initially remain anonymous. Direct contact only starts after the candidate releases their details.
This is not a blanket claim of AI Act compliance. Legal classification always depends on the intended purpose and the actual use. RheinTalent does demonstrate how important requirements can be addressed in product design: data control, explainability, correction and human oversight.
Open innovation in an EDIH
RheinTalent emerged from the EDIH.li “SME Tools” mastermind group. Alexander Jeeves of Jeeves Group, Manuel Pfiffner, Zeno John and Hartmut Hübner brought different perspectives together. A joint workshop produced a working product that continues to evolve with talent and companies from the region.
Companies can also use RheinTalent to find flexible forms of collaboration. These include fractional services: experienced specialists and executives contribute for a defined scope without requiring an immediate full-time role.
That is the real strength of the example: European technology, regional collaboration and human responsibility are designed as one offer.
